Frequently asked questions about membership
What is Jäsenpolku?
Jäsenpolku (“Member Path”) is the self-service portal for members. Your username is the email address you have provided to the member register. Through the icons in the portal, you can find your digital membership card, the digital version of the Latu&Polku magazine, tools to edit your contact information, your membership details, and information about the activities of both your local association and Suomen Latu. The site is mobile-friendly. [Log in to Jäsenpolku here].
Jäsenpolku says my email address cannot be found?
Are you logging into Jäsenpolku for the first time? Select the “Create new password” (Luo uusi salasana) option on the Login tab and follow the instructions. Also, ensure your membership fee has been paid by the due date. You cannot log into Jäsenpolku if the membership invoice remains unpaid.
Where can I find my membership card?
The Suomen Latu membership card is digital and can be found in the Jäsenpolku self-service portal. Read more [here].
How is the membership fee determined?
The price of the membership is based on the annual fee confirmed by each specific Suomen Latu member association. The membership fee is paid per calendar year.
How do I order an e-invoice?
To set up an e-invoice in your online bank, you will need three pieces of information:
-
The reference number (viitenumero) from your membership invoice.
-
Your member number (jäsennumero), also known as the customer number.
-
The biller name to search for in your online bank: “Suomen Latu ry”.
How do I change my address?
Suomen Latu uses the Posti address update service, meaning changed address details are updated automatically. If you have an address non-disclosure order (osoiteluovutuskielto) with Posti, you can update your new address manually in Jäsenpolku or via the service card. Information about the address change will also be forwarded to your local association.
What types of membership are available?
-
Individual Membership: Personal membership in a Suomen Latu member association. Includes a membership card and the Latu&Polku magazine.
-
Parallel Membership: For individuals who are already members of another Suomen Latu member association. Parallel membership is slightly more affordable. You can join as a parallel member by logging into Jäsenpolku or contacting member services at jasenpalvelu@suomenlatu.fi.
-
Family Membership: For families living in the same household (1–2 adults and children under 18). Includes a membership card and the Latu&Polku magazine. Children’s membership cards can be found in the Jäsenpolku account of the person who pays the membership, under “Memberships and positions of trust” (Jäsenyydet ja luottamustoimet).
-
Youth Membership (under 20) or Student Membership (under 29): Discounted membership for young people and students. Includes a membership card and the Latu&Polku magazine.
-
Supporting Membership: For individuals, companies, or communities wishing to support the activities of a Suomen Latu member association. Includes the Latu&Polku magazine.
How do I change my membership type or member association?
Please contact Suomen Latu member services at jasenpalvelu@suomenlatu.fi. Once the membership fee for the current year has been paid, the membership type or local association cannot be changed for that year. If you have already paid, contact member services, and they will record the changes to take effect the following year. It is possible to purchase an additional, more affordable parallel membership for another association for the remainder of the year.
How can I add family members to my family membership?
You can add family members living in the same household (1–2 adults and children under 18) by contacting member services at jasenpalvelu@suomenlatu.fi. Information about the added members will also be sent to your association.
Can I participate in the activities of other member associations in addition to my own?
Please check with the specific association regarding participation. You can also join another association as a parallel member, which is slightly cheaper than your primary membership.
Does my membership end automatically if I don’t pay the fee?
No, membership does not end automatically if you leave the invoice unpaid. You must report your resignation through the Jäsenpolku portal. Select “Memberships and positions of trust” (Jäsenyydet ja luottamustoimet), click the membership you wish to end, and select “End membership” (Päätä jäsenyys). Choose the reason and date for ending the membership and remember to save. You can also report your resignation via the service card, by email at jasenpalvelu@suomenlatu.fi, or by phone at 09 8567 7450. The association will be notified of your resignation.
Why didn’t I receive the Outdoor Calendar (Ulkoilukalenteri)?
The Outdoor Calendar is mailed with the last Latu&Polku magazine of the year to all members who have not opted out of fundraising products. If you did not receive the calendar, log into Jäsenpolku, allow fundraising communications, and you will receive the calendar by mail the following year. The Outdoor Calendar is a fundraising product for Suomen Latu.
