First time on skis, 75 min / 25 €

New to cross-country skiing? This is just the right place for you to start! During this introductory course you will learn the basics about the gear, safety and how to get going with the classic skis. The goal is to get to know the sport and have fun while we are at it. No prior experience is needed. If you use your own skiing equipment, it is recommended that you use classic style equipment.

 

Basic course, classic technique, 75 min / 25 €

This course offers you a chance to get a hold of the basics of classic skiing. We will practice basic balance and rhythm exercises. We will focus on the diagonal technique but also practice the double poling technique. You’ll receive basic information about the gear, safety and training. All exercises during the course are done on flat terrain. Some prior cross country skiing experience is recommended. If you have never done cross country skiing before, it is recommended you choose the “First time on skis” -course above.

 

Basic course, skating technique, 75 min / 25 €

If you are interested in learning the basics of the skating technique, you should choose this course. The training focuses on balance and learning the basic skating technique. You will also practice working and handling the skating ski efficiently. You’ll receive basic information about the gear, safety and training. All exercises during the course are done on flat terrain. Prior cross country skiing skating technique experience is not needed. However, if you have never done cross country skiing before, it is recommended you choose the “First time on skis” -course above.

 

Advanced course, classic technique, 60 min / 25 €

This advanced course offers you a little more detailed look into the world of classic cross-country skiing. We will revisit the diagonal and double poling techniques and practice the kick double pole technique. Some hill climbing and downhill exercises will be included.

This advanced course works best if you have acquired the basic skill set of classic cross-country skiing. Therefore it is required that you have completed the “Basic course, classic technique” and recommended you have skied several times after the basic course before signing up for this course. Alternatively you can be an active cross country skier looking for new tips for developing your technique.

 

Advanced course, skating technique, 60 min / 25 €

This advanced course offers you a little more detailed look into the world of skating cross-country skiing. We will revisit the basic skating technique, as well as focus on learning the faster techniques to move more efficiently on the skis. Some hill climbing and downhill sections will be included.

This advanced course works best if you have acquired the basic skill set of skating cross-country skiing. Therefore it is required that you have completed the “Basic course, skating technique” and recommended you have skied several times after the basic course before signing up for this course. Alternatively you can be an active cross country skier looking for new tips for developing your technique.

Terms of agreement

Signing up to a course:

Signing up to a course is always done through our webpage. Sign-ups are binding. The payment is completed upon sign-up through banking services or credit card. Purchases from the webshop are paid in full upon sign-up. You will recieve a confirmation of your registration to your email. You will not recieve any additional course letters from us so remember the dates which you have booked and save the confirmation email.

The sign-up is automatically registered into the database of Suomen Latu.

Terms of cancellation:

In case of sickness the payment, subtracted by 15€ handling fee, will be reimbursed. A medical certificate must be delivered to the following adress as soon as possible: by email paloheina@suomenlatu.fi or by regular mail to Paloheinän hiihtopalvelu, Pakilantie 124, 00670 Helsinki. The customer is obligated to inform the service provider about falling ill immediately by email, prior to the starting date of the course.

Cancellation of the course by the service provider:

In case of a cancellation the service provider will inform every signed up person personally. The signed up persons will be informed about a cancellation WITHOUT EXCEPTION! Failure to participate in the course is not processed as a valid cancellation. In case of a cancellation by the service provider, the customer is reimbursed in full.

Reasons for cancelling the course may be: too few sign-ups, sickness of the instructor, lack of snow or dangerous weather conditions. Remember: the course is cancelled only if the participants have been informed by phone, email or text message.

The service provider's right to make changes:

Suomen Latu reserves the right to changes due to change in prices, force majeure clauses or other hinders beyond the control of Suomen Latu.
